On request from customers that have no clue about grass…
( Grass must be installed within a few hours of being picked up from our location- or after it has been dropped and delivered to your location- if grass is not installed within a matter of a few hours- it has a strong chance of perishing - ( season and temperature depending )
If you are not familiar with the grass business… I would suggest you go onto Google and spend apx 3 to 6 hours researching on YouTube and every other social media outlet about how to properly install grass- if you do feel that YouTube and Google has given you all the proper information… You’re more than welcome to go to school and become an agronomist and learn all about the proper care and instructions on grass-
if you think this is a bunch of redundant information…
You may thank all your previous Sod purchasers that have no clue what they’re doing and called to say that we never told him all the little bitty details that they never asked about....
We are giving this is a public announcement and to cover our own ass-
Remember grass is a living thing…, If you do not take care of it it will die… If you do not know what you’re doing, Dallas Sod would highly recommend hiring a professional agronomist to come out and service your lawn…
You have just made a Significant investment on purchasing new sod... it is a wise idea to protect our investment by hiring somebody that knows what they’re doing...
We understand that you have been mowing your yard for sometime… You have probably gone to Home Depot to buy fertilization packages… Which most of you have a general clue what you’re doing… But really do not know the true nature and chemicals you’re putting on that particular lawn.
So if you put the wrong product on your new investment… It’s a good possibility you’ll kill it...
That is why we do not guarantee any living product that comes off of our lot… Or that we have installed...
Sod and plants are for you to keep alive -
We are not Home Depot-… We will not guarantee your plants/ sod that you have killed because your lack of knowledge..
Here is a simple watering schedule for you…
( every property is going to be different… This is a suggested watering schedule and is not meant for any other use other than a suggestion)
This is where most reasonable people will pick up !
Watering schedule -
- Every day - 1st 10 days (sometimes twice a day- depending on heat)
- Every other day- 2nd 10 days
- Every other 2 days 3rd 10 days
- After that u should be fine... Use ur best judgment ---
Mornings are the best- and if 3-4pm it is bone dry- give it a little bit more water -
Keep in mind this is a suggested schedule ... every yard and irrigation system is different-
So Please use ur best judgment!
Wait to mow Until grass is apx 4-5in tall
We generally do not suggest you fertilize for at least a month….
Unless of course you hire a professional Agronomist that says differently- Grass is generally fertilized at the farm
We suggest hiring a professional irrigation company to come out and flush out your system… That way the system will hopefully be free of soil that has been disrupted through the install process
Fertilizing is something that we do not offer…
Irrigation services is something that we do not offer...
